This document confirms the terms and conditions of the Electric Service Agreement (“Agreement”) between the customer (“You”) and Cerritos Electric Utility (“CEU”) (collectively, “Parties”). Under this arrangement, CEU will provide electric generation service to Your account and Southern California Edison Company (“SCE”) will continue to provide delivery and other utility services to You.

The Agreement between You and CEU consists of this Electric Service Confirmation (“Confirmation”) and CEU’s Rules and Regulations (“Rules”), which have been adopted by the Cerritos City Council and are located at the following website: cerritos.us/ceu. For material changes to the Rules, CEU may change the Rules on no less than 30 days’ written notice to You during which period You may cancel service from CEU without penalty.

SUPPLY PRICE

CEU Discounted Rate: CEU will provide electricity at an overall rate that is 5 percent less than SCE’s generation-related charges.

The Agreement will be effective on the date on which CEU provides written notice to You that CEU has received and approved the Agreement. Thereafter, CEU and You will work cooperatively to switch Your electric account to direct access service as soon as practicable. Electric service from CEU will commence on the applicable meter read cycle date specified by SCE pursuant to SCE’s direct access rules. 

CEU will send You a bill for electric generation service provided by CEU. Your payment to CEU will be due by the date specified on CEU’s bill. SCE will also send You a separate bill for delivery services provided by SCE. You will make payment directly to SCE for services provided by SCE. 

You have a right to cancel the Agreement without penalty until midnight of the third business day after the day on which You submitted the Confirmation. You may cancel the Agreement by providing written notice to CEU at the physical or electronic address specified above.  Written notice of cancellation may be in any form that expresses Your intention to not be bound by the Agreement.  Written notice is effective when deposited in the mail or transmitted via email. 

You will buy electric generation service from CEU on a month-to-month basis. Service will automatically renew for successive one (1) month periods unless either Party terminates service by providing written notice to the other Party, in which case service will stop on the next applicable meter read date.
